Power outage? Prepare in advance
A few simple preparations can help reduce inconvenience during a temporary power outage.

We will inform you in advance
If maintenance work affects your property, we will let you know in advance. For security reasons, we do not share the exact location and timing of maintenance work too far ahead. Shortly before the work starts, you will receive more information about what to expect.
Temporary power outage
Some maintenance work requires us to temporarily switch off the electricity.
We understand this can be inconvenient. We always try to keep the interruption as short as possible. Any information we send you will explain when the work will take place and when electricity is expected to be available again.
Frequently asked questions
Unfortunately, we cannot reschedule the maintenance date. We are legally required to carry out maintenance on our grid within specific timeframes. We have chosen a specific date within these timeframes that will minimise the inconvenience you experience.
No, this does not apply to you. Before we start our maintenance work, we identify the houses that will require temporary power cuts in order to let us work safely. The addresses we choose will depend on the way in which our grid is structured in that particular area. As a results, there may be situations where you still have power and your neighbours don't. In many cases, there will be differences between odd and even numbers, or two sides of the same street.
We always prioritise both your and our safety when we work. It is dark at night and street lighting needs to work in the interests of public safety. Other than that, it isn't pleasant for you to be stuck in the dark during the night.
